My Top Three Christmas Re-Stock Lipsticks!

source

Hello Lovelies, So as of recently I've been having a look for a perfect red toned, nude and berry lipsticks and stains. Since Christmas and New Years is so close and festive cheer has begun I decided to do a little online browsing and shopping. I decided to share my top three lippy's that I have re-found and plan to re-stock over the coming weeks.

Maybelline- Colour Sensational Creamy Mattes In The Colour Divine Wine

I find Maybelline lipsticks the perfect high street buy. Affordable, great packaging and perfect for your handbag. This year I got into using their Matte shades rather then their shimmer lipstick line and I've been loving them. My favourite has got to be the shade Divine Wine which I need to re-stock my lippy collection with as it was one of my favourite dark berry tones. Perfect for a dark smokey eye, a shimmer eye liner, sharp brows and contour and Divine Wine, you'll be ready for your Christmas or New Years party in no time. For around €7 you can't go wrong.

Nars- Audacious Lipstick In The Colour Olivia-Garnet

I'm a strong lover of Nars, and their lipsticks are probably in my top three Nars products ever!
I love the Audacious Lipstick line because not only does it match any lip liner line in the world, not just Nars, but there is 30 mouth watering berry shades to choose from, From bright neon to dark undertones and nudes. Unfortunately when making a Nars purchase, you do have to pay a little more then a high street price, but you get the bang for your buck as the saying goes. My favourite colour is Olivia-Garnet, perfect for the transition from Autumn to Winter. I wore this shade a lot during the day as I felt the slight gloss refreshing. I find dark matte shades much better for a night time look. Of course it's complete preference to what you want to wear and when you want to wear it. €25 well spent.

Mac- Original Lipsticks In The Shade Living Legend.
Every girl knows the feeling of picking up your first Mac lipstick. My very first Mac lippy was from their original collection, Mac Lipsticks in the colour Red To Shop, I then made the transition to Living Legend as I really wanted to try something other then red and soft pinks. I find Living Legend is perfect with a natural eye, winger liner and soft contour and brows, with a matching Mac liner to outline the perfect cupids bow, you'll be ready to go! They range from €15 and you can find similar shades in gloss finishes and other Mac lipstick lines which usually come in at €28.

There you have it! My top three ultimate lipsticks that I've purchased and planned to re-stock in my Make-Up bag before 2014 ends.

Stay Fab!

Work The Colour Eye Crayons!- Review

Hello once again! Last weekend I did a bit of Christmas shopping and self indulged in beauty products a little too much, but of course it was for the good over you guys to help you find little treats that are hiding among the masses of beauty stalls.

This week I tried out the Work The Colour Eye Crayons. They are similar to lip crayons except for the eyes. Since it's winter I wanted to get colours that I could use on a daily basis to brighten my eyes so I bought two light colours, one a baby pink, Vintage Blush and an off white, Vanilla Sky.

Vintage Blush
I loved the colour when I tested it out on my skin. Anything shimmery usually catches my eye and my new craze is eye crayons so finding these new little gems sort of made a little moment happen inside of me.

I wore Vintage Blush for the first two days of this week all over my eye lids. On my hand the stay wear was unbelievable, that when I tried to wash it off, it took vigorous scrubbing. Don't worry though, no heavy duty cleaner needed they come off with regular eye make up remover.

After the first day wearing Vintage Blush I noticed after about half a day in college the pigment wasn't as strong as when I first applied it, so on day two I decided to apply a clear shimmer shadow.. I wear eye shadow primer on a daily basis and the pigment still faded so I would assume the pigment would fade a lot quicker if you don't wear primer, and really, primer is usually the last thing on a girls mind in the morning. Unless you're a beauty habit freak like me.

I found using the clear shadow over the crayon on day two helped the colour stay a lot longer.

Vanilla Sky
I thought I would use this shade for my brow arch on nights out, the corners of my eyes to brighten and my bottom lash line to widen my eyes. I attempted this on day three when I decided to wear a matte skin colour from my mac pallet and wanted to brighten the inner corners. I found Vanilla sky to be a bit too translucent. Perfect for a top layer over matte shadow, or brow arch but trying to create an inner corner bright enough to reflect at least some light was a bit impossible.

As these eye crayons are chubby it is hard to catch the inner corner of your eye without creating a line on the side of your nose. I used a small brush from an old bojours pallet, It has a small tip resembling a lip brush. You can find these on line or in boots, or mac if you want to go pro.

Overall I give these eye crayons a 3.5/5.

Breakdown

Stay wear- You pay for what you get. I recommend an everyday primer or a clear shadow for a long day of college or work.

Pigment- Colour wise its good on skin, but for everyday wear and tear, use the recommended tools above to help the pigment stay longer without reapplying.

Plus side- You can use your finger to blend, to apply primer and I only recommend a brush as a tool for applying to the inner corners if you want to use Vanilla Sky as a highlighter for your eyes.

They are Only €3.99.
For everyday use I definitely recommend. It's given me a chunk of time extra in the morning to decide on what to wear!
There's only six colours to choose from unfortunately but they range from light to dark.

You can find them in Boots on line and in store.
