SS15 Launch- iClothing, Gosh Cosmetics and Saphir Perfume!

Hello Lovelies! So today I got to go to a wonderful event at the fabulous Dylan Hotel, Dublin, for iClothing, Gosh Cosmetics and Saphir Perfume for the SS15 collections! Not only was the hotel fancy and I got to share it with these three fabulous girls (Eleanor, Cat & Beckah), but I also received some fabulous goodies and spoke to some great fellow bloggers. So here's the low down on all the gossip and sneak peeks! *Squeals*

First up was Saphir Perfume. The ladies were absolutely lovely and so helpful, they informed us about the brands history, details on the scents and gave us goody bags with three bottles, testers and even men's aftershave, which I was surprised at but they thought of everything!

Saphir is over 50 years old and originally from Spain. They have been in Ireland for just over 13 months now.

It's 'handbag' sized bottles retail at 7.99 for 25/30ml and their 200ml bottles retail at 24.99. They have over 47 scents for women and 30 scents for men!

I love the details on the bottle and I will be reviewing the scents, lasting wear and all the stuff in between very soon. You can find local stockist on their site and they also have an online store so don't worry if you don't have a stockist near you, just order online and you'll be Saphir-ed very soon!

Next up was the Gosh section! My excitement was high at this point because I'm a make up lover, of course, but I was dying to get a look at the SS15 collection!

I've heard about the BB cream and powder before and I'm not too found of BB/CC creams but the coverage the BB powder gives is really a blessing! It's silky smooth and lightweight! The main event at the Gosh stand was the Prime'nSet powder! The make up artist gave myself and Elle a quick tester of the product and some tips on where and how you can use it before handing us our goody bags and letting us flick through the collection ourselves.

I will review all products below over the next few weeks!

Below is the new 9 Shades SS15 palette's which are available from Gosh as of today!
Note* You can not order this product online.

Lastly was iClothing, one of my favourite online brands. When I found out that iClothing would be giving us a preview of the SS15 collection just before they launched on the site, my little fashion heart could not contain it's excitement.

As you can see from the photo's above, lots of pink and blues throughout the collection this SS15!
I am super excited about their statement necklaces.

I was speaking to iClothing's buyer about the previous Autumn/Winter line and mentioned that I was going home to buy one of the necklaces when she checked my goody bag and then swapped the necklace I had received for the one I was going to buy. So thank you so much iClothing for your great hospitality and kindness!

Below is the piece I fell in love with.

There's some fabulous prints this season and I may have fallen in love with a pair of trousers and crop top that I am totally buying for Summer as a goal outfit!

Below are some peeks of my favourites from collection, which is now available online.

If you see anything here you like and can't find online just message me on twitter or email and I'll happily get all the details for you!

Massive thank you to the wonderful organisers again and the Dylan Hotel for it's hospitality!

Stay Fab

You’ll need:
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 Tbsp cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups milk
2 Tbsp white vinegar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 Tbsp red food colouring

1/3 cup salted butter, melted
Fresh raspberries and mint leaves, for garnish (optional)

What to do:
Preheat pan, medium heat.
Whisk together, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt, set aside.
Measure out milk into a liquid measuring cup and whisk in vinegar, allow mixture to rest for 2 minutes.
Pour milk mixture into a separate mixing bowl and add in sugar, eggs, red food colouring, vanilla and melted butter.
Whisk mixture, slowly add in dry ingredients and mix until a pancake batter has formed.
Butter pan if necessary and pour about a 1/4 of the mixture into the pan.

1) How has blogging affected your life?

Blogging has affected my life greatly! My blog is only about five months old now and so many great things have come from it. I've met some great people and have been invited to lots of great places and events! It's helped me focus through tough times as I love writing and sharing my thoughts!

2) which bloggers do you look up too?

I really love reading Cat's blog posts from Mentally Beautiful , she's such a lovely person and I love the view she takes on life! Everyone I nominated I read on a daily basis, checking for updates but there's also the bigger bloggers such as So Sue Me, since she's Irish, I admire her skill and how she blew up! I'm part of this Irish Blogger group and there's lots of experienced bloggers in that group, I think I look up to anyone who's honest and I connect with, which is the majority of blogs I read!

3) what is you’re favourite song at the moment?

My favourite song has got to be Nicki Minaj, All things go at the moment, her entire third album is amazing and on repeat atm! She is my idol because of her business mind, her attitude and how hard she works, lots of people think it's crazy to have her as an idol but I have my reasons and she is a powerful business woman! She knows how to run her stuff!

4) If you could have any product what would it be?

At the moment I'm craving a new eye shadow palette! As I'm loving the W7 palette's I think my next one I want will definitely be in the night as I'm in love with the purple tones!

5) what was your favourite thing to do as a child?
As a child I loved playing with my baby dolls, so my baby choo choo was my life. I 'fed her' everyday, changed her nappy like a real baby, and even sometimes in the middle of the night I'd wake up and have to check her in the cot. She never got a new name, but she was literally my child. I also loved my barbie dolls! I had roughly 200 Barbie's and ken, a beach hour, summer pool, giant barbie air plane, safari jeep and a nice roofless car and bits and bobs, I still love Barbie to this day!

6) If you could pick between WordPress or blogger which one would you pick?

Blogger, I find it easier to edit, customize and the layout is crisp and clear. I've tried wordpress but I'm more hands on when it comes to coding and graphics so blogger suits me more and I don't think I would ever switch over.

7) What advice would you give to new bloggers?

I'm fairly new myself, but as I'm now getting into the swing of things, I could give advice on how to handle the first few months. I like planning posts and I find it easier once you have a brief Idea of what you're writing. There's nothing worse then sitting down to try and think of a blog post. I use to have days I would upload but I fell out of that habit quickly because of my schedule. I would also say, keep things simple design wise, nothing worse then trying to navigate through a rainbow blog!, Most importantly be yourself and honest, let your personality shine through your work, if you want to be chatty then be chatty, or if you life being more formal then do that, don't write for the people, write for yourself and what you want to put out there!

8) what has been your favourite product that you've bought?

I swear buy my L'Oreal True Match foundation, and I will swear by it till this day. It was the best buy I ever made and I don't think I've regretted it ever. It has amazing coverage and everyone I recommended it to has loved it.

9) Does you’re family know that you blog?

My family and friends all know that I blog, as it was originally linked with college, but I always wanted to set one up just never had the confidence too. My family are very supportive, always sharing and saying how proud they are of me! Sometimes I'm a little wary sharing things that I don't write for my blog but for other blogs and sites, just because of the content and I don't want to offend family members, but they all believe in me and my writing so there's been no problems! They're great!

10) Do you have a YouTube that runs along you’re blog?

I set one up awhile ago but I never used it, but there could be a possible youtube journey starting very soon for me, secrets will be revealed very soon!

11) Is this the first award you've been nominated for?

I've been nominated for The versatile blogger award and most recently I was nominated for two awards Best Beauty Blogger and Newcomer of the year at the 2015 Irish Beauty Blog Awards!  It's crazy because I never expected to be nominated for any awards and they seemed to all happen one after the other, but it's great, it gives you reassurance that your blog isn't just words on the Internet and people actually read it! So thank you to everyone who's nominated me for the awards! Hopefully I can find a way to pay you all back soon.

Questions for my nominee's:
1) What's your favourite haircare product?
2) What's your dream job?
3) How did you decide on your blog url?
4) What's the one item of clothing you couldn't live without?
5) Who's your idol?
6) What's was your first album?
7) What's your favourite band?
8) What's your favourite make up brands at the moment?
9) Do you have any fashion regrets from over the years?
10) If you had the chance to be invisible for a day or fly what would you choose?
11) What advice would you give young girls or boys looking to enter the blogging world?

Thank you once again and..
Stay Fab!

2015 Irish Beauty Blog Awards!

Source

Hi guys, I'm going to keep this quick and short. During the week I was informed by a reader that they had nominated my blog for 'Newcomer of the year' and 'Best Beauty Blogger', which I kind of freaked out about. I didn't know much about the awards so I followed the link and read up, it's all for a good cause, in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland! (Which I couldn't be more happy about, all proceeds go towards BCI!)

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has read, shared and followed my little blog! I hope you guys continue to like what I write, because I hope to continue writing for months and months and maybe even years, who knows!

I know I probably won't win, but I agree with the saying if you're not in you can't win, many friends and family have voted for me, but if you like what I write then please vote! If I even made nominations list I would probably cry because I never thought anyone would actually read this stuff when I made the blog, and here we are, a few months later and someone's nominated me for an award! I still can't wrap my head around it!

If you do want to nominate me just click here and fill in the boxes like the example below.

Thank you so so so much to everyone who reads this blog!
THANK YOU!

Five thing's I'd tell 16 year old me!

Hello Lovelies! I thought I'd do something a little different for today, back away from the beauty, fashion, food. I've seen quite a few posts going around of what people would tell their teenage self and the most recent one I read was from my wonderful blogger friend Becca over at thatsobeckah!, I was inspired to do something similar so here you go!

You don't have to please everyone.
This is something I did a lot growing up, trying to be nice to everyone and help people out. I still do it till this day but I've learned to help those who help me and who are nice to me, but if I knew back then that not everyone will return the favour and to choose who you help, wisely, life would have been a lot less stressful.

Wear what you want.
I wasn't conservative with my clothing in my teenage years, but I was very particular about what I wore and felt weird wearing tracksuits outside the house. Now I don't mind what I wear outside, it doesn't matter who's staring at you, that maybe they envy your clothes and aren't laughing at those shoes and trouser combo. Something I wish teenage me learned earlier on.

You don't need to wear Make Up everyday!
I was one of those teenagers who hated leaving the house without make up, in my teenage years I was lucky to not get many spots, but I think wearing make up everyday has made my skin prone to spots over the past two years. They've calmed down now as I don't wear make up everyday and even when I don't, I don't feel self conscious. 16 year old me, you need to rewind, take off the green eye shadow (what was I thinking), and embrace that clear skin!

Enjoy your freedom!
Yes school was hard on my brain, the long hours, the constant amount of work, homework every night and exams, but it was a lot easier then college. I find college more enjoyable, the learning, the people and it's something I want to do! School was really easy workload wise looking back now, and it was fun, but 16 year old me hated school because I think it's a natural reaction for all 16 year old's.
Also enjoy the pocket money and constant stream of concerts, once you become a college student your grant isn't going to get you into one gig!

Boy's aren't everything.
Okay, as a teenager I wasn't that bothered if I had a boyfriend or not, and then when I hit 18 I was kind of feeling put out because it seemed all my friends were getting closer to relationships then me, but if there's one thing I learnt once I left them 16 year old teenage years behind and hit the older teenage years, is that yes, a boyfriend is nice, but sure it's not the end of the world. You'll find someone eventually, but until then work on yourself and the right person will come along when you least expect it! How cliché is that?

There you go, five things I would tell 16 year old me. Of course I can probably think of ten more things, but I'm not going to drag this out. Also I'm curious?...

What's one thing you'd tell 16 year old you?
Comment below, I'd love to know!

Until next time..

That Perfect Every day make up look!

Source

Hello lovelies. I'm back with a quick step by step guide for that every day natural make up look everyone wants to perfect and who better else to explain this every day look?

Why miss Lauren Croke, Make up Artist/student whom formally did this step by step look which quickly became the most viewed post on my blog!

So let's get down to business with the lovely Lauren, here's her tips, tricks, advice and guide on how you can perfect that every day make up!

"Every girl knows that even a simple day time look requires a good amount of products. No matter what make up look you are going for you will need a handful of products. Here is a step my step guide to the perfect every day make up look.

FACE:
Make sure you have moisturiser on your skin and leave it sitting for at least 5mins to let it soak in.
Primer is next and I have started to use this boujiour primer, as I find it is a great dupe for benefits pourfessional.

Next apply your foundation  using a buffing brush or foundation brush. I have used L'oreal true match foundation in colour golden beige as I find that it's good coverage and matches my skin.

Then use a lighter shade of concealer to brighten up under your eyes to give you a fresh look, I prefer to use Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer as it has a highlighter in it to give that dewy glow.

Then finish the base using a translucent loose powder, any will do,  to set it all in place.

To finish of just add a bit of bronzer to your cheeks and temples to add a bit of warmth and colour to your face.

EYES & EYEBROWS:
For a daytime look you just really want a nice clean eye.

Apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes, I like to use benefits they're real! mascara as it makes my lashes full and long and then using a subtle brown Maybeline eyeliner pencil to the lower water line and upper corners of the eye just to give your eye some definition.

If wanted you could add some bronzer to the crease of your eyelids with a fluffy eyeshadow brush to give your eyes more of a pop.

Filling in your eyebrows is always important as your brows shape your face. I do so with a Rimmel eyebrow pencil in colour dark brown.

LIPS:
For that perfect everyday look all you want on your lips really is a natural colour . You want something that will make your lips look lush at the same time and I find that Mac "syrup" is the perfect colour for an everyday , out and about look ! It is a subtle colour but also gives your lips that but of a pop and shine."

There you have it lovelies, the perfect quick fix every day make up look. Of course you don't have to have all the cosmetics Lauren mentioned, but if you want,  you can try the products for yourself and just make do with what you have and what suits your face.

You can find Lauren on twitter, she'll be happy to answer questions, give advice, or just talk about beauty.
You can also check out her instagram for pics and tricks.

For help and a quick guide Lauren recommended the video below for beginners to make up or the natural look!

Fblogger Talks // Fashion, Trends and the Spring Season! - Part One

In part one of my 'Fblogger talks' mini-series , I spoke to Irish fashion bloggers Brenners Mc Goo from Brenners Mc Goo Blogger, Shona Hanlon from Sh0gbot and Christoper from Christopher-Fashion, who is based in Canada. We discussed all things fashion fails, trends, Spring/Summer and the guys gave me some top tips for this season to share with you all!

What made you start blogging?

Shona: I started blogging way back in 2010 but after I got too busy with college I ended up deleting it. I started a new one in June last year because I was unemployed and had the time to put into it but also because I just felt blogging was made for me and I'm really passionate about it. Since I started working again I had to push it aside temporarily but I'm going back to it now as I have settled into my job and I really miss it!

Brenner’s: I started blogging when I moved back home to Ireland after studying in the UK and having lived in the south of France. I noticed how many alternative shops were in the UK and the boho hippy fashion in France and decided to make it my goal to find alternative shops here in Ireland.

Christopher: I started blogging as a summer project, when I had nothing to do and I was bored. It then developed into a love for sharing my thoughts and personality with the world.

How has your own personal styled evolved over the years?

Shona: My style has changed massively like most people I imagine! I, like a lot of people, had a teenage 'goth' phase where my hair was black and pin straight and all I wore was black. After that I was a typical barbie, everything was pink and my hair was long and blonde. As I hit 18/19 I became an alternative fan, and I pretty much made up my own style and the hair colour changed frequently too! Soon after that I started college where I was all about the rocker look with quirky and unique accessories. Now I find that I'm settling down I'm loving classier looks as I get closer to 25, but I don't think I'll ever lose my rocker edge.

Brenner’s: I have gone through so many phases, in my first two years of college, I chopped my hair up in a pixie style and wore hippy-ish clothes, then I started wearing punk/grunge clothes and now I love to wear 50's pin up and boho clothes in the summer and dark gothic clothes in the dark depressing winter.

Christopher: When I was five, all I would wear were boot cut jeans and t-shirts. At ten, it was coloured skinny jeans and high tops. Now, I prefer black skinny jeans, combat boots and cardigans, I also like coloured striped shirts and neutral pants.

What’s your worst ‘fashion fail’ or something you regret wearing?

Shona: I'm a 90s kid so the fashion fails are endless! From rip offs to diy tie dye shirts and scrunchies we were just the coolest kids around.

Brenner’s: To be honest, I don't regret any of my fashion choices throughout the years, they signify my changing, growing personality as I grew up and I love to look back on them.

Christopher: I think everything before my teen years were bad fashion years for me. I used to be obsessed with the grossest, weirdest, most disturbing outfits. Things that didn't match at all, and pants I would step on the ends of because they were too long.

Is there anything that has been ‘in fashion’ over the past year or two that you want to see gone?

Shona: Crop tops and jumpers just need to goooo! Apart from making girls feel self-conscious if they can't wear them they just never look good.

Brenner’s: I generally don't follow trends, I just do my own thing. If I like it, I buy it. I do wish people would stop tucking their track-suits into their socks though. Maybe that's an inner city Irish thing.

Christopher: I think that bright colours, on bright colours, like neon on neons, they have to go! They were so popular in teens in 2014 here in Canada and I'm super sick of that.

Do you have any style advice for ladies heading into Spring?

Shona: Ladies, if you don't have time to follow current fashion trends or are not sure where to begin, just relax. With spring/summer there are many fail-safe trends to choose from that you most likely already own. Florals, dresses, colours (yellows, blues, pinks) and monochrome/minimal or whites are pretty all round current picks for spring/summer.

Brenner’s: I would encourage you ladies to be fearless, don't shy away from being different. Stand out from the crowd with bold lip colours and crazy coloured hair. Embrace your individuality and smile confidently. A smile is the best accessory of all.

Christopher: I think that faded greys, yellows, and greens paired with blacks will be everything. If you haven't already purchased a pair, I think you're in need of plain black combat boots!
